The basic function of servo motor is accurate, precise and fast positioning. AC servo motor is like ordinary motor, composed of stator and rotor. There are two windings on the stator, excitation winding and control winding, and the two windings are 90 degrees apart in space.
The rotor inside the AC servo motor is a permanent magnet, and the three-phase electrical drive control forms an electromagnetic field. The rotor rotates under the action of this magnetic field. At the same time, the motor's encoder feeds back the signal to the driver, and the driver compares the feedback value with the target value to adjust the rotor's rotation angle. The accuracy of the servo motor depends on the accuracy of the encoder.
The working principle of AC servo motor and single-phase induction motor is essentially the same. That is, without control signal, it should not rotate, especially in the case of already rotating, if the control signal disappears, it should immediately stop rotating. But ordinary induction motors, once rotated, often continue to rotate even if the control signal disappears.
